This page works the date out in your browser, with JavaScript. Turn it on, or do it by hand: take the 19-digit id from the link, divide it by 4,194,304 (2 to the power of 22), drop the remainder, and read the result as milliseconds since 1 January 1970 UTC.

The date comes from the id alone. The page never opens the post, so the answer is the same for a post edited or deleted since. An activity id is the moment a post went live. A ugcPost or share id is when it was written, which for a scheduled post is earlier. Checked on 15 October 2026 against public posts from 2017 to 2026: every activity id landed within a fraction of a second of the time the post's own page publishes.

Links it reads

A post link: linkedin.com/posts/{author}_{first-words}-activity-{id}-{code}, the link a post's own menu copies. The id follows activity, or ugcPost on some posts.
A feed or embed link: linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:{id}/, the same with urn:li:ugcPost or urn:li:share, and embed codes from linkedin.com/embed/feed/update/.
A comment or reply link: Any of the above with commentUrn or replyUrn in it. The comment carries its own id next to the post's, so you get both dates.
A urn or the id alone: urn:li:activity:{id}, urn:li:ugcPost:{id}, urn:li:share:{id}, urn:li:linkedInArticle:{id}, or the 19-digit id on its own.
Links with no id: Article addresses (linkedin.com/pulse/...), lnkd.in shortlinks, and profile, company and job pages carry no post id. The page says so instead of guessing.

Find the id

A post link carries a 19-digit number after activity, ugcPost or share, and a comment link carries a second one for the comment. The page picks them out of whatever you pasted.

Read its first 41 bits

LinkedIn post ids are ordered by time. Written in binary, the first 41 bits of the id count the milliseconds since 1 January 1970 UTC, so shifting the other 22 bits off leaves that count: the example id 7503024613491532469 becomes 1788860467312.

Turn the count into a date

That count is a moment: 8 September 2026, 09:41:07 UTC for the example. The page prints it in UTC and in your time zone. In code it is one line: new Date(Number(BigInt(id) >> 22n)).

Questions about post dates

How do I see the exact date of a LinkedIn post?

Paste the post's link above. LinkedIn shows a post's age in short form, such as 3d or 1y, but the exact moment sits inside the post's id: the first 41 bits of that number count the milliseconds since 1 January 1970 UTC. The page reads them and prints the date and time in UTC and in your own time zone.

Does this page contact LinkedIn or keep my link?

No. The date is worked out in your browser from the text you pasted. No request carries the link, to LinkedIn or to us, nothing stores it, and it never goes into the page address or an analytics event. Close the tab and it is gone.

Which LinkedIn links work?

A post link from the post's own menu (linkedin.com/posts/...-activity-...), a feed link (linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:...), the same with a ugcPost or share urn, an embed code, a link to a comment or a reply, a bare urn such as urn:li:activity:..., and the 19-digit id on its own. Article addresses, lnkd.in shortlinks and profile, company and job pages carry no post id, and the page says so.

Why does a lnkd.in link or an article link give no date?

A lnkd.in shortlink hides the address it points to, and finding that address means opening the link, which this page never does. Open it in your browser and paste the address it lands on. An article address (linkedin.com/pulse/...) ends in a short code, not an id, so paste the link of the post that shared the article instead.

Can I find out when a comment was posted?

Yes. A link to a comment carries the comment's own id next to the post's, in commentUrn, and a link to a reply carries one more in replyUrn. The page decodes each of them, so you see when the post went up and when the comment was written.

Why do two links to the same post give different times?

They carry different ids. An activity id is minted when the post goes live. A ugcPost or share id is minted when the post is written, so for a post scheduled ahead it can be hours or days earlier: on one post we checked, the share id read nearly four days before the time the post went live. For the time a post appeared, use a link with an activity id.

How accurate is the date?

As accurate as the id, which is minted to the millisecond. On 15 October 2026 we checked public posts from 2017 to 2026 against the time each post's own page publishes, and every activity id landed within a fraction of a second of it.

Can I get the dates of many posts at once?

Not on this page, which reads one link at a time. The gtm-api.com API returns a profile's or a company's posts with their dates, and the comments and reactions under a post, on a LinkedIn account you own and connect. It is priced per connected account, from $10/account, with calls not metered and a free plan for one account.
