LinkedIn API Pricing 2026: Per-Account vs Per-Call

LinkedIn API Pricing

What a LinkedIn API really costs, the free official tier, per-account vs per-call models, and the actual numbers for GTM API.

Updated September 2026 · 7 min read

A LinkedIn API costs anywhere from free to metered-per-call, depending on what it does. LinkedIn’s official API is free but can’t message, connect, search, or enrich. Third-party APIs that actually run outreach price either per connected account (flat monthly, unlimited actions) or per call (credits per request). Which model is cheaper depends entirely on your volume, and the two cross over faster than most people expect.

“LinkedIn API pricing” hides three very different products under one phrase. This page separates them, shows when each pricing model is cheaper, and lists GTM API’s real numbers so you can compare like for like.

How much does a LinkedIn API cost?

Three tiers of “LinkedIn API,” three price realities:

  • Official API: free, but limited to identity and posting on your own feed.
  • Outreach APIs (connect, message, search): priced per connected account or per call.
  • Data and enrichment APIs: almost always metered, per call or per credit.

If a page quotes one number for “the LinkedIn API,” it’s only describing one of these.

The two pricing models

Once you’re past the free official tier, third-party APIs split into two billing models. The difference matters more than the sticker price, because it decides whether heavy usage is affordable.

Model How you pay Best for Watch out for
Per connected account Flat monthly fee per account. Actions unlimited Outreach, steady messaging & connecting Paying for idle accounts
Per call / per credit Metered per request or per record Occasional lookups & enrichment Costs spike with volume
Official (free) No cost, but no outreach or search Login & publishing only Partner approval for anything more

The trap is metering outreach. An AI agent that sends thousands of messages a month is ruinous on per-call pricing but flat on per-account. That’s why outreach-focused providers, GTM API included, use the account-based API model (per connected account, unlimited actions), and reserve metering for enrichment, where each record genuinely has a data cost.

At GTM API, the core outreach API is priced per connected account with unlimited calls. Real, current numbers:

Core: LinkedIn API

Core$39 → $10per connected account / month · unlimited API calls & actions · MCP + REST + webhooks · forever free plan, no card · cancel anytime
Connected accounts Per account / month
1–4 $39
5–9 $30
10–19 $25
20–49 $20
50–99 $16
100–299 $13
300–999 $10
1,000+ Custom

Every account bills at the bracket rate (12 accounts = 12 x $25). No per-action fees, no counters, no seat minimum. Annual billing: pay for 12 months, get 15, on the account subscription only. A free plan gives one connected account with the full UI, API, MCP and CLI, no card.

Add-on: 5G Proxy (+$15 / account / month)

The insurance for accounts you cannot afford to lose: a founder’s profile, a client’s account. All of the account’s traffic rides a dedicated premium 5G mobile route, the network class LinkedIn trusts most, and it is also the fastest route we run: commands execute faster, with fewer retries and fewer drops. Fewer failures means fewer anomalies, and a safer account. On by default for every account at checkout, can be mixed per account. On annual billing the add-on is charged for all 15 months at the monthly rate.

Everything bills on one invoice. Live pricing is on the pricing page.

Which model should you pick?

Match the model to the workload. A quick rule:

💡 Rule of thumbRunning outreach (connect + message on the same accounts, day after day)? Per-account wins, unlimited actions make cost predictable. Doing occasional enrichment across many one-off profiles? A metered per-call/credit plan is cheaper. Building both? Per-account still wins: on GTM API scraping and enrichment run on the same connected accounts you already pay for, with no second meter.

Hidden costs to watch for

The sticker price is rarely the real price. Four things to check before you commit:

  • Per-action fees layered on top of a base plan.
  • Seat minimums that force you to buy five accounts to start.
  • Proxy or “safe mode” add-ons sold separately (they should be included).
  • The cost of a banned account: lost conversations, warm-up time, sometimes a new phone number. A provider that keeps bans rare is quietly saving you that recurring tax. On that stack, gtm-api.com reports 20,000+ accounts at under a 1% ban rate.
⚠️ Durability is a hidden cost tooAccount-based providers that run on your own owned accounts tend to persist. Scraper-style data APIs can vanish overnight: LinkedIn sued Proxycurl in January 2025, and the company announced its shutdown that July, stranding everything built on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a LinkedIn API cost?

The official LinkedIn API is free but only covers sign-in and posting to your own feed. Third-party LinkedIn APIs that actually do outreach price either per connected account (a flat monthly fee with unlimited actions) or per call (metered credits). Of the two, GTM API is per-account: from $39/month, scaling to $10 at volume, with unlimited API calls and a free plan to start.

Is the LinkedIn API free?

The self-serve official APIs (Sign In with LinkedIn, Share on LinkedIn) are free, but they can’t message, connect, search or enrich. Any API that performs outreach or pulls profile data is paid. Against that, GTM API has a forever free plan, Sandbox: one connected account with the full API and MCP, no credit card and no time limit. Paid plans run from $39 per connected account per month, scaling to $10 at volume.

What's cheaper, per-account or per-call pricing?

It depends on volume per account. For steady outreach (many actions on the same accounts) per-account is usually far cheaper, because actions are unlimited. For occasional one-off lookups across many profiles, per-call metering can be cheaper. By contrast, GTM API is per-account across the board: outreach, scraping and enrichment all run on your own connected accounts, with no second meter.

Does GTM API charge per message or per action?

No. Core LinkedIn actions, connect, message, InMail, read inbox, are unlimited on the per-account plan, with no per-action fees or counters. The one optional add-on is 5G Proxy, a flat $15 per protected account per month, not a meter.

Are there volume discounts?

Yes. The per-account price scales down from $39 toward $10 across seven brackets as you connect more accounts, which is why agencies and platforms running many seats favor the model. Annual billing adds three free months: pay for 12, run for 15. Above 999 accounts pricing is custom.
